We are looking for qualified Tagalog speaking psychologists, social workers or counsellors to take part in a 3-month pilot program to deliver Text based counselling services to the Philippines corporate clients impacted by Covid-19. We need people that understand cultural sensitivities, are willing to learn and adjust to a new client relationship management system along with testing and suggesting improvements to the system. This project has an immediate start and requires you to be more than just a counsellor. Interviews will occur on the Gold Coast by June 15. We are looking to hire in stages with 75% of people hired by June 15th and face to face training occurring on Thursday 18th June with a go live date of 19th June.

About the role
You will be required to deliver online customised mental health support via our text-based platform to Philippines based employees and their family members within the Employee Assistance Service Sector. Services are also delivered to vulnerable youths within a school-based setting. Although Text is the main modality for engagement there will be times that phone based services are required for escalation purposes.
There is an expectation that all VirtualPsychologist staff make themselves available to meet periodically for skill development, training, team bonding, and to share experiences. Whilst we promote a flexible working environment where you can work remotely, we have found it is essential that the team have in person contact to feel confident and have a good team spirit.
- To succeed in this role, you must have a relevant tertiary qualification in social work, psychology or counselling.
- Proven experience working with youth and the corporate sector
- Fluent in both English and Tagalog with a good understanding of the cultural barriers faced by those people living in the Philippines
- Sufficient understanding of technology, including but not limited to:
- Microsoft word, excel, outlook
- Social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
- Windows or MAC OS
- Web-based platforms
- Most importantly a willingness to learn how technology and mental health can work together to make changes for the better
Our service operates 24/7 with shifts split as per the following:
Mon-Fri: There are 3, 5 hour shifts between 8am and 10pm. (8am-1pm, 1pm-5pm, 5pm-10pm) and 1 overnight shift between 10pm-8am.
Sat-Sun: There are 2, 5 hour shifts between 12pm and 10pm (12pm-5pm, 5pm-10pm) and 1 overnight shift between 10pm-8am.

Skills and experience
You will require your own laptop with stable high speed internet access, effective written communication skills in both English and Tagalog, good clinical skills, fast typing speed, good familiarisation with technology, and a passion for changing lives, with a desire to contribute to a young organisational culture.
The service is a 24-hour service. Employment will be as a contractor and you will require an ABN and your own liability and indemnity insurance. You must be registered with AHPRA, AASW or PACFA.
Note: Counsellors must provide a copy of their certificate of completion.
