Dervla is Virtual Psychologist’s founder and CEO. Prior to starting the company she was a senior psychologist for 20 years for the government and international organisations. Dervla has degrees in Industrial Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Sports & Exercise Psychology. With a background in IT, having been a Lotus notes developer, she is excited to bring the clinical and technical worlds together through this disruptive innovator that is Virtual Psychologist. Having been featured in Vogue magazine and winning various awards, Dervla is a proud female entrepreneur partnering with some of the world’s biggest companies. She is thrilled to be bringing text-based counselling services globally and to continuing to save and change lives around the world.

Mr Greg Vains

Greg is Virtual Psychologist’s COO and manages the global operations of our business. Greg attended the Institute of Management in Adelaide graduating in Merchandising and Marketing Operations, with a specialisation in Sales. Greg has over 20 years experience in sales and operations within the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry, and was the product marketing manager for a South Australian dairy company. He won a global scholarship and travelled around America and Europe reviewing product innovation. That combined with spending time as a child in Papua New Guinea, he has exceptional skills in managing global operations. Greg ensures that Virtual Psychologist is running at peak operational efficiency whilst doing his part in facilitating the staff to save and change lives.

Mr Jamie Phillips
BSci(Psych), GradCertPH, MInfTech(HCI), MUXPA
Jamie is in charge of global IT, Data, and Innovation. Jamie has education and experience in both the clinical and technical aspects of Virtual Psychologist. Jamie has a degree in Psychology, postgraduate in Public Health Epidemiology, and a Master of Information Technology with distinction in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) with a minor in Enterprise Systems (Service Delivery). He is also trained in Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Strengths Based Leadership. Jamie specialises in mental health, public health, and service delivery technologies. Jamie is also a registered member of the International User Experience Professional Association. Having been trained in Agile, Prince2, and Scrum, Jamie manages our global technical projects and has been known to get involved in prototyping new innovations and software. Jamie believes Virtual Psychologist is the future of psychology, especially in South East Asia, as it brings innovative mental health support to those previously unable to access it.

Ms Marion Valster

Having grown up in Europe, and lived in the Netherlands, the UK, France, and Switzerland before moving to Australia, Marion understands the importance of global citizenship. Marion started her career in ICT, then gradually changed over to coaching and psychology. This was a natural progression from working in leadership development and coaching during corporate change management programs, which she became involved in when completing her Master of Business Administration (MBA). Marion is a registered psychologist, and an accredited coach. She completed the coaching accreditation both at the Neuroleadership Institute™ and Cambridge University, and is currently completing a Master in Positive Psychology, with a strong interest in how coaching strengthens workplace engagement, affecting organisations’ bottom line in a positive direction. Marion believes Virtual Psychologist provides an essential service in an innovative manner, and is proud to be connected to the company.

As Virtualpsychologist’s Marketing Manager Jackie’s role involves the management of strategic marketing initiatives, branding and Virtualpsychologist communications. Jackie has a passion for innovative solutions, seeing people succeed and helping businesses grow through effective communication and marketing initiatives. Jackie has more than 25-years’ experience working in various marketing and management roles focused primarily on marketing & project management, large scale event management, sponsorship, new business launches and strategic planning. With extensive involvement in the international education sector Jackie has worked with various Universities and private companies, including overseas placements. As the Australian Site Director for a US based study abroad organisation Jackie managed global staff, promoted Australia as a study destination and established world class semester abroad programs for visiting US students in Australia. Jackie believes in education, travel and creating true global citizens – being around people that change the world.
